Colleagues,

As many of you know, the Coalition’s wind energy production tax credit letter to Congressional leadership was released at AWEA’s Fall Symposium last Thursday in Colorado Springs.  Nick Juliano, a reporter for Energy and Environment Daily, did a preview story that morning (https://governorswindenergycoalition.org/?p=7003) before the letter’s public release.  The PTC letter is attached and is posted on the web site at https://governorswindenergycoalition.org.

The preview story was not encouraging since the congressional chatter appeared to be that Congress would let the tax credit expire and take it up again in January after Congress reconves. That, of course, is exactly what the governors urged Congress not to do.

Let’s see if the letter changes the congressional narrative over the next week or so.  We’ll discuss a follow on PTC strategy during our monthly conference call next Friday, November 22, and during our DC meeting on December 6.
