UPDATE: Meeting with FERC Commissioners

Colleagues,

We have tentatively scheduled meetings with four of the FERC commissioners or their staff for Wednesday, May 30, but we’re still waiting on Chairman McIntyre to confirm on time on May 30.  If Chairman McIntyre can’t meet on that day, we’ll likely begin the scheduling process again.

We were pleased to see how many of you were interested in the participating in the meetings.  As soon as we confirm a meeting date, we’ll let you know.

Thanks for your patience.

Larry

Governors' Wind Energy Coalition

April 10, 2018

Colleagues,

David Terry and I are scheduling a meeting with members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to follow up on the governors’ letter to the commission in November, shortly after the Senate confirmed its new members. The letter discussed the importance of transmission infrastructure modernization and state-led regional coordination. The letter also noted that the nation’s high voltage system is aging and limits the states’ ability to fully share readily available renewable power with markets where demand is high. We invite you to attend the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to begin building relationships with senior commission staff, and to convey the message contained in the governors’ letter. We also hope the meeting results in identification of opportunities for the coalition to continue the dialogue with the commissioners and to ensure that our views are considered.

We’ll share the tentative meeting times with you as soon as they are available. You’re participation in the meeting is welcomed and your travel costs can be reimbursed.

Thanks for all your help and support.

Larry
