Offshore wind firms form climate change coalition

The largest offshore wind developers in the world announced a global coalition yesterday to foster ocean-based renewable power as a means to combat climate change. Denmark’s Ørsted A/S and Norway’s Equinor ASA, companies dominating the burgeoning U.S. offshore wind industry, are leading the initiative, alongside partners including MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S, Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA. Calif. requires solar on new homes, a first for U.S.

Many new homes in California must have solar panels on their roofs under a law that took effect this year, the first such mandate in the nation. The law approved by the California Energy Commission (CEC) under a building code update requires solar on new single-family homes and multifamily buildings up to three stories high. N.J. advances ‘landmark’ bill to increase EVs twelvefold

New Jersey’s Legislature passed a bill last night to multiply twelvefold the number of electric vehicles registered in the state and increase charging infrastructure, despite criticisms about the cost to ratepayers.The plan would require at least 330,000 of the state’s vehicles to be plug-in electrics by 2025, up from about 26,000, as per the latest estimate from state environmental officials.
