By Lars Paulsson, Jeremy Hodges and Chris Martin, Bloomberg  •    •  Posted 2019-05-14 14:02:30

Philip Athey, E&E News reporter  •    •  Posted 2019-05-14 14:05:00

Lawmakers introduced legislation last week to promote energy efficiency as a means to address climate change and save taxpayer dollars. H.R. 2664, by Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), seeks to reduce the government’s energy bill by removing the current ban on fossil fuel use in government buildings while also requiring tighter efficiency standards.
