California’s aggressive pursuit of an electric grid fully powered by renewable energy sources is heading in a new direction: offshore. On Friday, the federal Interior Department took the first steps to enable companies to lease waters in Central and Northern California for wind projects. Wash. governor approves 25-MW solar project

Gov. Jay Inslee (D) has approved a new solar energy project in central Washington state. Seattle-based Tuusso Energy sought a permit from the state to build photovoltaic facilities at five locations encompassing about 200 acres of farmland in Kittitas County. [ read more … ]
