Seven months after a bipartisan group of governors formed the U.S. Climate Alliance in support of the Paris climate accord — and after he previously questioned the purpose of the group — Gov. Larry Hogan said Maryland will join, after all. Buffett’s Squeezing More Power Out of Wind With This Software

Operators of U.S. wind farms including Warren Buffett’s energy company are turning to technology designed to squeeze more power out of every turbine. MidAmerican Energy Co. is using software from Uptake Technologies Inc. that gathers data from turbines to help operators spot potential malfunctions before they happen. Renewable energy made up 30 percent of OPPD’s retail sales in 2017

Renewable energy primarily derived from wind whistling across the Nebraska plains accounted for 30 percent of the Omaha Public Power District’s retail energy sales in 2017.
