Court postpones arguments in litigation over carbon rule

The federal court hearing the litigation over the Obama administration’s carbon rule for new power plants today postponed oral arguments that were scheduled for next month. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit removed the arguments from its calendar at least until it decides what to do with the Trump administration’s motion to pause the case.

Offshore impact ‘small’ on fishing

Offshore wind farms in the Atlantic Ocean off the US coast will have a minimal impact on commercial fishing, according to a new report from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. The BOEM study has been produced in conjunction with the National Marine Fisheries Service to better understand fishing activity in areas of potential offshore wind development.

Oklahoma Senate panel approves rolling back wind tax credit

Legislation that rolls back a state tax credit for the wind energy industry has been approved by an Oklahoma Senate panel. The Senate Committee on Appropriations on Wednesday voted 34-6 for the House-passed measure and sent it to the full Senate for consideration. [ read more … ]
