Register now for webinar on renewables and CPP compliance

Colleagues,

Several months ago, we hosted with AWEA one of the first webinar’s on compliance options EPA’s proposed 111(d) proposed Clean Power Plan (CPP) rule.

On Thursday, May 28 from 1:00-2:00 pm EDT, we’ll host another webinar with experts from both AWEA and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) regarding a recently released handbook from these organizations on how to incorporate renewable energy into state compliance plans for the CPP.  Although there are several states that have expressed opposition to the proposed, there are other states that are developing compliance plans.

You can register for the webinar here.

With this webinar and the full handbook, you will learn:

The advantages of using renewable energy for compliance, including the latest information on:

o   The widespread availability and affordability of wind and solar energy;

o   The ability to integrate large quantities of renewable energy into the grid; and,

o   The environmental benefits of doing so.

The questions you’ll need to consider to incorporate renewable energy into your state plan, options for how to answer those questions, and the implications of different choices;

o   How do you quantify the emissions reductions attributable to renewable facilities?

o   How do you track them?

o   How do you verify them?

o   What policies could be used to deploy renewable energy and how are they enforceable?

o   What policies could be used to deploy renewable energy and how are they enforceable?

Experts discussing the handbook will include:

Tom Vinson, VP, Federal Regulatory Affairs, AWEA

Gene Grace, Senior Counsel, AWEA

Michael Goggin, Director, Research, AWEA

Rick Umoff, Counsel and Regulatory Affairs, State Affairs, SEIA

Katherine Stainken, Director, Government Affairs, SEIA

Thanks to our friends at AWEA and SEIA for their help in planning and hosting this webinar.

There will be ample time for questions.  Feel free to submit topics in advance that you’d like to ensure are covered to tvinson@awea.org.
