Governors' Wind Energy Coalition

June 3, 2015

Colleagues—

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Coalition’s meeting later this month on Friday, June 19. If you haven’t done so already, please RSVP to Tracey (bkohler@gmail.com). The meeting will be at the Bipartisan Policy Center, 1225 Eye Street, NW. The latest agenda is attached.

We have added representatives from General Electric Power & Water to the agenda. The GE representatives will talk about their recently announced digital wind farm technology.

Here are a few other highlights: Dan Utech, President Obama’s Deputy Assistant for Energy and Climate, and Jose Zayas, director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Office, will discuss the Quadrennial Energy Review and the Wind Vision report.  Jeff Chen will talk about Tesla’s new storage technology, and Jonathan Weisgall from Berkshire Hathaway Energy will describe the scope and reach of one the nation’s leading renewable energy utilities.  The Senate’s Energy and & Natural Resources Committee staff will discuss the status of currently proposed energy legislation.

The wind industry’s response to the meeting has been very positive. Industry representatives are interested in hearing your state briefings in the afternoon. If you have a presentation, please send it to Tracey at your earliest convenience.

We’ll see you later this month.

Larry & David
