Subject: IMPORTANT: Draft Coalition Letter to President Obama

In July 2011, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee and Iowa Governor Terry Branstad sent a letter on behalf of the Coalition to President Obama, suggesting executive branch actions that his Administration could take to support the nation’s wind industry. A copy of the letter is attached.

The White House response  was very favorable. White House staff and the Departments of Energy and Interior adopted nearly all the governors’ recommendations and suggestions. In a meeting with White House staff, it was suggested that they would welcome additional suggestions. That draft is attached for your review.

Please review the draft and send me your comments or revisions by this Wednesday, February 20 so we can circulate a final draft, incorporating any suggested revisions, before our monthly conference call this Friday, February 22.
