Subject: IMPORTANT: Draft Coalition Letter to the President Obama

Last July, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee and Iowa Governor Terry Branstad sent a letter on behalf of the Coalition to President Obama, suggesting executive branch actions that the Administration could take to help get the wind industry back on track. A copy of the letter is attached.

The response to the governors’ letter was very favorable. White House staff and the Departments of Energy and Interior adopted nearly all the governors’ recommendations. In recent a meeting with White House staff, it was suggested that the Coalition provide a follow up letter with additional suggestions. That draft letter is attached for your consideration.

Please review the draft and send me your comments or revisions by Monday, May 21 so we can circulate a final draft, incorporating your suggested revisions, before our monthly conference call on Friday, May 25.
