An unusual bipartisan mix of 19 governors is urging the Biden administration to expedite the preliminary determination in the Commerce Department’s anti-circumvention probe into solar components from four Southeast Asian nations. The governors – who lead states spanning deep-red Missouri to blue states like New York – also call on the administration to conduct economic analysis as part of the inquiry and the potential impact from retroactive duties on businesses, workers and families. “The current market disruption jeopardizes much of the progress achieved by the domestic solar industry and we fear this will only continue for the duration of the investigation,” they write in a Monday letter.

It was signed by the governors of Arkansas, American Samoa, Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington.
