Governors' Wind Energy Coalition

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is to meet with senior State of California officials to discuss the way forward for offshore wind off the US west coast.

The meeting, which is taking place on 13 April in Obispo, will tackle consenting and planning issues.

It follows on from an October 2016 meeting organised by BOEM and the State of California that brought together federal, state and local agencies to discuss offshore wind.

BOEM and California are in the process of gathering ocean data ahead of opening an offshore wind planning system.
