Hundreds of millions of dollars would go toward buying electric or zero-emissions vehicles for the federal government in the proposed fiscal 2022 Financial Services-General Government bill due to be marked up today. The House Appropriations Committee released the $29.1 billion bill yesterday, which would represent a $4.8 billion, or 19%, increase over current spending. The measure funds the Treasury Department, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, among other agencies. The bill would create a $300 million Electrical Vehicles Fund for agencies to purchase “zero emission and electric passenger motor vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure.”
